Note:
Walasse Ting was an American-Chinese artist and is most famous for his unique blending of vivid colours on rice paper. What makes the art of Ting so distinctive and sought-after is a unique combination of traditional Chinese painting techniques with the energy and freshness of American action painting. With expressive dripping strokes and bright fluorescent colours, the women, horses, cats and flowers, as can be seen in this work on offer, are energetic, sensational, and dreamy in Ting’s paintings. He said: “Paintings are my honey, colours are my flowers; velocity is what’s required of a thief-he must paint as speedily as he draws a gun.”
