‘Bar do’ literally means in between in the Tibetan language, symbolising in between two worlds. These paintings are used during the ritual conducting the spirit of the deceased to the hereafter. There are 18 small paintings hanging from a coton cord. Every painting has a different image and function. Painted on linnen with natural pigments.
