Note:
In 1986, Keith Haring opened his ‘Pop Shop’ in Manhattan; a container painted on the inside and outside by the artist himself, where T-shirts and novelty items with Haring’s imagery were sold. Therefore, the Pop Shop was in every way an extension of Haring’s work; a fun boutique where his art could be accessible to everyone. Tseng Kwong Chi, one of Haring’s close friends who belonged to the same artistic circle since the start of the 1980’s, documented this ephemeral piece through photography.
