Note:
The box was designed by Escher as a promotional gift for the tin manufacturer Verblifa (De Vereenigde Blikfabrieken) on the occasion of their 75-year jubilee. The so-called ‘Verblifa-tin’ is an icosahedron: an even polyhedron with twenty triangular faces, decorated with starfish and shells.
