Note:
Gerritz grew up in the Dutch Land van Maas en Waal, which continues to fascinate and inspire him to this day. He is mainly inspired by Dutch nature and calls himself a “landscape painter” – although it would take a long time to find a landscape like he paints them.
Over the years, Gerritz’s landscapes have become more and more abstract; he uses stylized imagery and thereby emphasizes his experience of the landscapes. The landscapes are not clearly recognizable, but merely a feeling sphere. Gerritz’s work is also characterised by the enthusiastic use of bright and expressive colours and motifs of architectural elements such as castles, towers, and churches, as can be seen from this work on offer.
