In the Eifel
Gouache on paper on cardboard, 51.5 x 39.7 cm
It is likely that the depicted landscape was painted en plein-air in the area around Monschau, a village in the Eifel surrounded by mountains, where the painter went on several trips in the period of 1906-1909. During this period he painted a variety of mountain landscapes and village views characterised by clear colours and many shades of green.
