A Purbhu
Bhutan, 18th century
This wooden Purbhu is decorated with three painted wrathful deity heads in relief and a half Dorje finial. The three sided dagger with snakes is surmounted by the head of a Makara. The central part of the magical dagger has stylised endless knots and lotus leaves.
