An English lanternclock, ‘wingclock’
17th/18th century
With single hand, alarm disc, verge escapement with balance wheel above the top plate, chapter ring with Roman numerals, dial engraved with a flower wreath, brass case, single stricking, the doors with ‘wings’, anchor-shaped pendulum. bellstrap surmounted by a pinnacle. Openwork fret. Four weights. Interior of wallplate with inscription: TB October/1985 and Rest/Stevens & Zn/den Haag/Sept 1959. ‘Hoop and spurs’.
