A bronze Buddha Shakyamuni
Indonesia, Central-Javanese period, late 9th century
Seated in vajrasana on a lotus base placed on a throne. His right hand in bhumisparsha mudra, while his left hand rests on his lap, holding a part of his monastic gown that leaves one shoulder bare. The face with a serene expression, downcast eyes, elongated earlobes, curled hair and ushnisha backed by a large flaming nimbus. With green patina.
