Buddha Maravijaya
Laos, 16th century
A bronze Buddha Maravijaya sitting in Sukhasana, with his hands in the Bhumishparsa mudra. Black lacquered bronze with traces of gilding. His foot pad is decorated with a Chakra, his habit is decorated with sylised flowers. His lips, nails, the Chakra and the flowers are all inlaid in silver.
