Anthony Andreas de Meijier
(The Hague 1806 – 1867)
A view of the Haagsche Bos in winter
Oil on panel, 44.5 x 67.2 cm
De Meijier was a pupil of the Hague landscape painter Andreas Schelfhout (1787-1870). This painting, which can be seen as one of his best, provides a striking depiction of winter with its many details and beautiful colour variations.
