A rare Italian bronze single handled mortar

The spreading upper rim embellished with a laurel band above six panels, one with Jesuit emblem IHS (Iesus Hominum Salvator) in circular medallion and one with ribbed handle with hanging suspension, flanked by foliate columns above a festooned horizontal band.
