A Dutch burr-walnut longcase clock
Amsterdam, mid 18th century, Andries Feenstra
The hood with a carved serpentine crest, pierced architrave, the glazed door flanked by two pilasters, the brass dial with silvered cypher ring, blackened Roman numerals, signed Andries Feenstra, Amsterdam, a subsidiary dial with seconds indication, two apertures for day, date and month and a matted centre, below an aperture for moon indication, the dial above a painted landscape, the case with burr walnut veneer and rocaille cartouche, the movement with eight day going train, anchor escapement and strike on two chimes.
