A Dutch burr walnut longcase clock
Third quarter 18th century, signed Hendrik Gyswyt Amsteldam
Eight-day weight driven anchor movement with alarm and Dutch wreck quarter striking on two bells. Attractive dial signed Hendrik Gyswyt Amsteldam, with indications of day, date, month and moonphase. Burr walnut case with bombe base, the hood with a carved serpentine crest, pierced architrave, the glazed door flanked by two pilasters, surmounted by Atlas and angels.
