Marlene Dumas is a South African artist living in Amsterdam, where she became one of Holland's most prolific artists. Dumas creates figurative works inspired by personal memories and a diverse array of printed matter, including Polaroid photographs, newspaper and magazine cuttings, letters and Flemish Old Master paintings.
