Signed lower right
Oil on panel, 21 x 27.4 cm
Provenance:
Private collection, the Netherlands
Note:
In this work, we witness activity on the beach of Scheveningen, with the old church and the well-known Pavilion Von Wied in the background. The Pavilion Von Wied was constructed by King Willem I as a seaside residence, as a birthday gift for his wife, Queen Wilhelmina of Prussia. Due to health reasons, she had to spend a significant amount of time by the coast of Scheveningen, engaging in drawing and painting.
