A photo album
Iran/Persia, between 1945 and 1959, donated by the Shah of Persia, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi during his visit to Frits Philips in Eindhoven on 23/24 May 1959
The album executed in so-called 'Khatam Kari' technique by Mohammed Bahger Hakim-Elahi and his studio in Tehran. This studio provided prestigious objects, also for the Persian court. The surface of the binding is made up of miniscule, geometrical shaped pieces of gold, silver, metal, wood and bone, forming repetitive patterns in various color combinations. The outlines rendered in camel bone. With red silk cord terminating in two suspended tassels. In blue velvet case.
