The abstract painter Achille Perilli consistently combined his artistic work with the systematic development of his ideas through numerous theoretical writings. A recurring theme in his reflections is geometry, which he perceives as a paradoxical field where the laws of calculation and optics encounter “landslides of memory onto visual perception.” This concept is part of his personal “theory of geometric irrationality,” as detailed in his 1982 essay. This theory is essential for understanding his later works, where geometric organization and vivid colors dominate the visual field.
