A gilt-bronze Empire mantle pendulum clock
France, circa 1810
The case, mounted with Psyche looking towards her table mirror crowned with a figure of her lover Cupid surrounded by a laurel wreath and sitting on an Empire stool, on base with applied mounts shaped as Atlant figures and foliate scrolls with garlands and butterflies in between. With white enamel convex dial with original steel moon hands, eight day going train, countwheel strike on a single bell, timekeeping regulated with silk suspended pendulum.
