16 March 2015

The new auction season will start with this very extensive interior auction. The catalog contains 215 lots, including silver, clocks, furniture, books, pottery, porcelain and other special collectibles.

The auction will start with a large oval silver rococo style jardinière with blue glass liner. This Amsterdam object, dated around 1890, has an extremely refined openwork in the form of grape vines and butterflies. Valuation for this impressive object € 2,000 – 3,000.

Lot 24 is a silver and partly silver-gilt prize pen by Hendrik Hop, in the shape of a quill pen with the Amsterdam coat of arms and the year 1759 imposed on a band. A comparable Amsterdam prize pen from 1753 is in the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Valuation € 8,000 – 10,000.

Lot 44, an ebony-glued cabinet, comes from Antwerp. This 17th century piece of furniture is very beautifully inlaid with ivory and fitted with ruffle frames. Valuation € 3,000 – 4,000.

We offer a wide choice for lovers of antiquarian books. Lots 49 through 58 contain rare printed copies with engraved maps, hand-colored engravings and plans. Valuations € 600 – 3,500.

The pair of fruit-shaped Delft butter dishes with lids are extremely decorative. The two yellow pumpkins, decorated with branches and flowers, were manufactured around 1780 by the De Roos factory. Valuation for this marked set € 2,000 – 3,000.

Among the Chinese porcelain you will find a wide choice of high-quality Kangxi porcelain. The various (hooded) bowls, plates and saucers come from private collections, of which lot 87 immediately catches the eye. This conical blue-white bowl with a contoured rim is distinguished by the detailed decoration on the outside, depicting a scene from 'Lan Ting Xu'. Valuation for this rare bowl € 3,500 – 4,500.

The cover lot, lot 162, concerns a very large size 'famille rose' nine peach vase, decorated with fruit-bearing branches with nine large peaches, as well as three bats. Valuation for this museum object € 16,000 – 20,000.
