8 December 2014
For lovers of antiquities and art, we are organizing this interior auction on Monday 8 December. The catalog contains no less than 486 lots of silver, jewellery, porcelain, earthenware, clocks, glass, sculptures, furniture, candlesticks, Asian items, paintings, watercolors, drawings & graphics.
The pair of boat-shaped silver sauce bowls with lid and saucer from 1790 by Rudolph Sondag in Rotterdam are extremely suitable for the upcoming holidays. Valuation for this finely decorated couple, lot 3, € 7,000 – 8,000.
This auction also contains various lots of jewels, of which lot 17, the Art Deco brooch, immediately catches the eye. This stunning white gold brooch, set with diamonds and Orient pearls, has a very attractive valuation of €1,500 – 2,000.
Very popular are the pair of hexagonal marble garden vases from the garden of Castle Fót in Hungary. The sides are decorated with girls' heads between acanthus leaves and one ribbed column is included. Valuation for lot 49 € 6,000 – 7,000.
Rare is the pair of Rococo mirrors, lot 59, in a carved and gilded wooden frame and equipped with two separate candle holders. The set, dated about 1760, was purchased at the famous address Encadreur Lebrun in Paris and is now offered to you with a valuation of € 5,000 – 6,000.
A large part of the catalog is devoted to the Chinese porcelain collection. Lot 86, a pear-shaped 'famille-rose' vase from the Guangxu period, is very delicately decorated with houses located on a river in a mountainous landscape. Valuation for this museum vase € 3,000 – 4,000.
Another striking example is lot 175, a baluster-shaped soft-paste vase with a trumpet-shaped neck. The narrow neck bears two elephant heads with separate ring and the cream-coloured glaze with gray crackle make the whole a real eye-catcher. Valuation € 3,000 – 4,000.
One of the earliest objects is lot 206, the pottery rider on horseback from the Han dynasty. The horse is stylistically very powerfully depicted and its rider extremely detailed. The valuation for this impressive sculpture, purchased at Becker Antiques in Amsterdam, is € 2,200 – 3,000.
The auction will end with an extensive collection of paintings, watercolors, drawings, graphics and sculptures. These 253 lots are arranged in alphabetical order by artist and the catalog thus leads you from Luciano Albertini to Douwe Jan van der Zweep. Because the works were made between the 19th and 21st century, a good picture is sketched of the developments in art history of the last 200 years.
A large part of all artworks is auctioned without reserve price. You can recognize this by the valuation € ATP.
Of course, the above is just a selection from the entire range. We therefore invite you to the online catalog here .
