The highlight of Michel van Overbeeke's ethnographic collection offered in this auction is an almost seven meter long Papuan 'soul prahu' from Uramun, western Iran (formerly Dutch New Guinea). Characteristic are the curved figures and the turtle. You will find a comparable piece in the Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam. Valuation for this absolute eye-catcher: € 10,000 – 12,000
An impressive wooden 'Baule' fetish mask, from the Ivory Coast, carved in the shape of a buffalo head, has been valued at €2,000-3,000.

A very rare, large format, 16-arm copper spherical crown, dated 1647 and signed EEV. These initials stand for the famous Amsterdam 'yellow founder' Elias E. van Vliet. Father and son van Vliet belonged to the absolute top of the craft. A comparable crown hangs in the Bergkerk in Deventer. Valuation: € 30,000 – 40,000.

For lovers of old cartography, incidentally a collecting area that is currently very much in the spotlight, there is an original map of Suriname dating from 1830. The card stands out because of the many details mentioned and moreover because of the size of no less than 88.5 x 246.5 cm. Particularly interesting are the various curious inscriptions such as: 'Unknown countries until now' and 'Name list of the owners of the Plantagies'. Valuation for this extremely rare piece of cartography: €10,000 – 15,000.
Various other special cards, this time from different parts of the Dutch East Indies, are also part of the offer.

Art Nouveau collectors will love a Cameo glass vase, signed Gallé and made in Nancy around 1900. The vase is decorated with berry branches in red against a matted background. The height is 26.5 cm and the estimate is € 1,300 – 1,800.

Flamboyant jewelry should of course not be missing in an auction like this. For example, there is an 18 carat white gold flexible bracelet with a double row of 2 x 52 brilliant cut diamonds, (approx. 9ct in total and a weight of 35.5 grams), valued at € 5,000 – 6,000.

Also English, this time from Sheffield, is a pair of silver candlesticks from 1898 by James Dixon & Sons. Valuation for this Arts and Crafts style couple: €2,500 – 3,500.
An attractive silver and agate rococo travel essential, complete with everything one could possibly need on the road, such as a knife and fork, a ruler, a compass and tweezers is priced at €800 – 1,200.

Among the furniture you will find a very eye-catching design table designed by the artist Pim Lenos. The 11 cm thick top consists of a sawn-off disk of Brazilian hardwood, complete with annual rings, knots and bark. This imposing top rests on four green patinated legs in the shape of men's legs. Estimate for this very exclusive piece of furniture: € 8,000 – 12,000.

The private collection of Karin Eijlders in this auction is of international allure. As a fashion designer and owner of the boutique of the same name on PC Hooftstraat, Eijlders traveled the world in search of exciting items and inspiration. When she bought her first lucid bag at a market in New York in the 1960s, she started an impressive collection. In this auction we offer you no less than 81 lots of very diverse plastic handbags and clutches, all from the 1950s. A large number of these are marked, some are inlaid with rhinestones and others have a metal body.
This collection is concluded with a beautiful piece of couture, namely a four-piece gold lamé suit of her hand. With these trousers, jacket, waistcoat trimmed with white rabbit fur and coat you will definitely steal the show during the holidays.
All these lots are offered without a reserve price and thus offer you the opportunity to purchase a very special gift for Christmas for a small price.

The auction will end with a very extensive collection of paintings, watercolors, drawings and graphics. The 295 lots are arranged in alphabetical order by artist and the catalog thus leads you from Gerard Aldolfs to Jacques Zon. Because the works were made between the 17th and 21st centuries, you are given a good picture of the developments in art history of the last 400 years.

You will find various color lithographs by Karel Appel, most of which date from the 1970s. By Arman is a large format etching entitled 'Téléphones', which is very recognizable because of the repetitive prints. You will find five works by Freek van den Berg, all equally colorful and all purchased directly from the artist. Various Indo-European works will also be auctioned, including three handsome drawings by Rudolf Bonnet. The screen print with lithograph by Stephen Buckley comes from the former Peter Stuyvesant collection. Not only color lithographs, but also sculptures and a tapestry are part of the offer by Corneille this time.
To convey a New Year's greeting, you can purchase the two woodcuts by MC Escher. These were used as New Year's cards in 1949 and 1951. Also a name like Klaas Gubbels cannot be missed in this auction. In addition to the painting and the two works on paper, you will find the 'Table Knot with Chair' from 1998. These two objects made of welded metal and plastic show the special collaboration between the artists Gubbels and Tajiri. Various works by Anton Heyboer will also be reviewed. Striking is the enormous work on paper of almost 4.5 meters wide, entitled 'The Brides'.
29 lots by Gerard Hordijk have been included. All these works on paper show this artist's gift to represent figures very realistically with the use of only a few lines. Historically very interesting are the designs for costumes and scenery for the production of the Italian opera 'Le Donne Curiose', which he made for the Wagner Vereeniging.
The works by Thijs van Kimmenade are highly sought after in the gallery world. You will find a 'Mummy' sculpture by him, but also the well-known 'CH-air' photo. Obtained directly from the artist's family, the two drawings are by Harrie Kuyten. Both were made in Café Wien and show a beautiful image of the time. By Anton Martineau we offer you five lots, two of which are painted on canvas. The other works of his hand are, as usual, drawn almost screamingly on paper. The work by Harmen Meurs has a special history. The original signature of this charcoal drawing was removed and replaced by Willy Sluiter's signature. With the help of external expertise it was possible to reconstruct the history, which means that this work of art can now be sold under its original name.
For lovers of Theo Niermeijer, four corroded iron objects have been included. If you have a more classical taste, please look at the refined watercolor by Johannes Preij, depicting 'Pijverkers in de inn'. This 18th century artist devoted a large part of his oeuvre to imitating works by Old Masters, this work being a copy after Teniers. Ben Snijders offers no fewer than two paintings, 'Red with Apple Blossom' and 'Still Life with Three Cherries'. Both works were purchased shortly after they were made at Galerie Lieve Hemel at the PAN Amsterdam in 2000 and 2002.
For elegant decoration of your interior, you can look at the painting by Louis Soonius, depicting an elegant lady in the Haagsche Bosch. But the six butterflies by Nicolaas Struyk from the 18th century also lend themselves well to this. Small, but nice, the 'Knot' by Shinkichi Tajiri is made of enamelled silver-coloured metal on a wooden base. Of course the prints by Andy Warhol always remain popular, in this auction you will not only find 'Flowers' and 'Marilyn Monroe' by Sunday B. Morning, but also the signed poster from 1986, issued for the exhibition '10 statues of Liberty' in Galerie Lavignes Bastille in Paris.

More than half of all artworks are auctioned with no reserve price. You can recognize this by the valuation € 1 – 1.

Of course, the above is only a small selection from the offer. We therefore invite you to come and view all lots during the viewing days. We hope to welcome you this weekend and at the auction!

Due to the large number of lots, the auction will start at 12 noon.

Any defects or restorations of the offered lots are not described. If you would like more information about the condition of an object, please contact us or request a condition report.
