The new auction season in Amsterdam will start with the Art auction up to € 3000. The concept, once adopted from a leading German auction house, is proving particularly popular. Many people regarded visiting an auction or viewing days as 'high-threshold' until we introduced this auction category in the Netherlands. Although Veilinghuis AAG also applies a certain quality and therefore price limit, it makes an exception a few times a year for these very affordable items.
Many of the works on offer come from entrants who, in addition to their expensive works, also want to offer the etching, lithograph or painting by a (sometimes less well-known) master. These works are therefore ideal for the Art auction up to € 3000.
In addition, this auction contains various collections that can be sold at any price: You can recognize these by the valuation € 1 – 1.
That does not mean that just any work is accepted; if the works of art are not so important in art history, they must in any case be very decorative.
Nevertheless, you will generally find important and big names in this auction and not only from our own soil. However, it will generally be a more unusual genre by the artist, a version on paper, a larger edition or, for example, a work whose condition requires some care. This makes this an auction where you can certainly find various 'trouvailles'!
The catalog contains images of each lot and the descriptions are listed in alphabetical order of the artist's name. The booklet therefore leads you from Karel Appel to Arie Zwart, among others. This paints a beautiful picture of the arts from the 17th to 21st century and this auction offers something for everyone. Good 'bargains' can therefore be found in this auction, but in all likelihood there will also be many 'outliers'.
